Robot Axel, also known Break (ブレイク Bureiku) in Japan, is an antagonist from Streets of Rage 3 that serves as a rival unit in Project X Zone 2. He was created by the Syndicate to frame Axel Stone for crimes he didn't commit. In Chapter 40, Mr. X's spirit takes control of Robot Axel after Bison's defeat two chapters ago.

Crosspedia[]

An android created by Mr. X, the syndicate boss, as part of an elaborate revenge plot against Axel and his friends. It was built to the exact spec of Axel's body, so not only does it look like him, it can also use virtually all of the same moves.

Mr. X tried to use Robot Axel to commit crimes in a brilliantly nefarious plan to frame the real Axel.

Gameplay[]

Project X Zone 2[]

Robot Axel first appears in Chapter 11: Boulevards of Belligerence on board the Queen Zenobia and having planted several raxine bombs throughout the hall. When the heroes spot him in the main hall, they mistake him for the real Axel. Thankfully, the real Axel arrives on the scene and exposes Robot Axel as an android constructed by the Syndicate to frame him for crimes he didn't commit, and though he is confused he still is around when he destroyed the Syndicate, the heroes deduce he was recruited by Shadaloo. Robot Axel proceeds to arm the raxine bombs prompting the heroes to try and stop him. He is defeated by the heroes and destroyed.

A second Robot Axel appears in Chapter 17: Road Combatants, having been used to lure Ryu and Ken to M. Bison into the world of the God Eaters. It is defeated and destroyed by the heroes, with Axel saying that he is getting tired fighting robots that look like him.

A third Robot Axel appears in Chapter 21: You Must Play the Sega Saturn!, having been brought to the world of Terca Lumireis by M. Bison and dispatched alongside Baby Bonnie Hood to help capture a brainwashed Estellise. It is defeated and destroyed by the heroes.

A fourth Robot Axel appears in Chapter 29: The True Dragon Fist, having been brought to Fiora's world by M. Bison and appearing in Sword Valley with a brainwashed Ken, Estellise, Black Hayato, and Dokugozu. It is defeated by the heroes and destroyed.

A fifth and final Robot Axel appears in Chapter 40: Iron Fists of Fury appearing in Shibuya alongside Kurohagane α and several Robot Xes. The heroes are confused by his presence because they thought Shadaloo was in Shinjuku, but Robot Axel reveals that M. Bison had been killed and Shadaloo has been destroyed, but when he says he needs Psycho Power to revive the Syndicate and that he will never die, Axel realizes his nemesis Mr. X has somehow possessed the android. After he is defeated, Mr. X says that he and the Syndicate will never die. After he blows up, Axel promises to defeat him as many times as he can return.

Note: Just like from his home game, Robot Axel has a very identical moveset to the real Axel.
