Zagi (ザギ Zagi?) is an antagonist in Tales of Vesperia. He appears as a boss in Project X Zone 2.

Crosspedia Entry[]

An assassin who hunts Yuri, notable for his insane demeanor. Extremely aggressive, he draws sublime pleasure from fighting powerful opponents.

He originally belonged to the guild Leviathan's Claw, where he was hired to assassinate Flynn. However, when he made his attempt on Flynn's life, he was driven off by Yuri. Attracted to Yuri's strength, he decided to switch targets.

Zagi remained fixated on his relentless pursuit of Yuri, attacking him time after time even as the entire world faced disaster. In the end, Zagi was defeated in Tarqaron and plummeted away, presumably to his death.

His right arm has been modified into a blastia, from which he launches both magical attacks and swift sword strikes.

Gameplay[]

Project X Zone 2[]

Zagi's first appearance is in Chapter 22: The Demons Within where he reemerges from the depths of the Taqaron Ruins following Estellise's liberation from M. Bison's control. He decides to resume his obsession with Yuri and ends up allying himself with Vile Mk. II, who tempts him with the thought of feeding the 'demon' living within him. After he is defeated, he flees and promises to feed his thirst for blood.

Zagi's second appearance is in Chapter 30: Way Beyond Good and Evil, where he emerges from the bottom of the sea at the Fallen Arm. He reveals that he was at Ryugo-jo along with Sigma, but he left because he didn't care about what he wanted, only desire to kill Yuri again. After he is defeated, he declares he needs more power than the blastia he already possesses.

Zagi reappears in Chapter 35: Justice Enforced, where he sensed Yuri's imminent arrival and once again tries to kill him. He is once again defeated and declares he needs more power, and thus retreats.

Zagi's final appearance is in Chapter 41: The 101 Embryo Plan, where he arrives with an army of monsters from Terca Lumireis, though he says that the Adephagos that accompanied him were only trying to see the 'end of the world', while he considers this unknown location the perfect place for his final battle with Yuri. After he is defeated, Zagi realizes his body isn't moving anymore nor is it hurting like it was after his previous defeats. He declares that next time he will get a whole body made out of blastia and that next time, he will see his fight with Yuri to the very end. He then falls through a crack in the dimensions due to his blastia inferfering with the dimensional integrity of the area, disappearing to parts unknown.
