Profile[]

Shadow is the group leader of the Rhythm Rogues in Space Channel 5 Part 2. He continually taunts Ulala and is always seen either personally battling her or introducing her to a boss of a report. In "Report 5: The Spies Get Revenge!", once defeated, he reverts back to his human form, and is revealed to be none other than Jaguar, the reporter of the Space Pirate Broadcasting Station and the man who saved Ulala when she was young.

Crosspedia Entry[]

Field captain of the Rhythm Rogues, a mysterious dance group. He was given a mission to make everyone dance on command, and thus he attacks with his army of robots.

He loves to show off his sweet dance moves with a hip, cool demeanor.

His boots are equipped with handy jets that allow him for precision dancing even during flight.

His mask keeps his true identity an impenetrable riddle.

Gameplay[]

Shadow first appears in Chapter 8: Dance Battle!, appearing in the R:2 version of The World with his Rhythm Robots, where upon Ulala's arrival, she reveals his identity and organization to the heroes. He summons forth Coco ★ Tapioca, whom he had put under his control with a computer virus, announcing his plan to be turning the Rhythm Rogues into a Dance Virus. When he sees that the location he is in doesn't have the virus he is looking for, he decides to steal the heroes' Dance Energy, leading to a fight between both sides. After Shadow is defeated, he praises the heroes for their strength before calling them a threat to the Rhythm Rogues before fleeing.

Shadow's second appearance is in Chapter 18: Escape from the Gangs of New York, appearing outside the Little Lip Theatre, which he says has a large concentration of Dance Energy. After he is approached by Sakura Shinguji and Gemini Sunrise, he reveals his intention to take the theatre for himself to serve as the Rhythm Rogue's base of operations. When they refuse, he fights them until the other heroes arrive on the scene, which surprises him. When they ask about the virus he was talking about previously, he says they will have to fight him first. Upon the arrival of Ranmaru and his forces, he agrees to help him seize the theatre for the fragment of the Demon Sword so he could keep the theatre for himself. After he is defeated, he praises the heroes once again while retorting to Ulala that his dream to make a world ruled by dance is paradise, achievable once his Dance Virus is complete before fleeing.

Shadow's third appearance is in Chapter 28: Angels With Burning Hearts, appearing on top the Space Symphony, revealing he was waiting for the heroes to arrive. He tells the heroes that his allies went on ahead to collect something while he stayed behind to hold the group back, also seeking out the Sigma Virus which he said is necessary to finish his Dance Virus. He proceeds to fight them but is defeated, where afterwards for some reason he starts to writhe in pain before fleeing.

Shadow's fourth appearance is in Chapter 31: Turnabout Dance, where he helps Sigma steal the Golden Seed from the Ryugo-jo by warping it away, but finds himself trapped with Sigma and Kamuz. After the heroes arrive, he helps Sigma attempt to incriminate the group in order to finally escape and finds himself participating in their trial. Unfortunately for him, the person who he gave the Golden Seed to after warping it away, Sylphie, ends up revealing it was him to stole it earlier, unaware that she was already familiar with the item. After it gets stolen by Kamuz and it becomes possible to leave the castle, Shadow fights the heroes but is defeated. Afterwards he starts to act strange again and even question his current presence, but manages to escape while telling Ulala that he will see her again.

Shadow's fifth and final appearance is in Chapter 39: So Long, My Love, where he emerges from portal in the Shinjuku Bypass, which he reveals was possible due to Dance Energy from Ryugo-jo. He then reveals that his plan is to dance and open portals to various worlds, which several of the heroes surmise that it will lead to the destruction of the dimension. When Ulala asks about the Dance Virus he wanted to create, he explains that he changed his mind and is pursuing the direct approach instead. While fighting the heroes, he manages to accumulate a large amount of Dance Energy and opens another portal bringing forth Coco ★ Tapioca and Ciseaux, but he starts to writhe in pain again and says that he has danced for too long and he doesn't have much time left. Upon his defeat, he calls Ulala by her name, leaving her confused as to how he knows her. He tells her that she needs to stop the Rhythm Rogues because he himself is a Space Pirate and that the Dance Energy is out of control and dooming both himself and the city. He then changes back and leaves for good, promising to see Ulala again in their own time period.

Note: His theme is a remix of "Let's Shoot and Rescue!" from Space Channel 5: Part 2.
